Design Project Context Explanation:
Inspiration:
For the packaging design project of Dolce Trattato (Fictional) old Italian chocolate company, the goal was to create four variations of chocolate bars – organic, dark, milk, and white – each exuding a sustainable retro organic feel. The project began as a logo design endeavor, resulting in a captivating logo with a retro vibe and hand-drawn icons that perfectly encapsulate the essence of this fictional company. Building upon the logo, the project evolved into a packaging design venture aimed at appealing to the fictional long-time market presence of Dolce Trattato. I just wanted to see the logo in use. And it was my first packaging project. It was not an exam project; it was a personal one.

Target Audience:
The target audience for Dolce Trattato's chocolate bars is comprised of loyal customers who appreciate quality and tradition. With a long-standing presence in the market, the company's logo is already highly recognizable, making it essential to maintain brand consistency and evoke a sense of nostalgia among consumers. The packaging design is tailored to appeal to this audience, blending modern and retro elements to create a visually captivating and emotionally resonant product.

Typography Choice:
The typography choice for the packaging design plays a crucial role in evoking the desired aesthetic and emotional response. Eulogy Demo Light and Adelia Regular were selected for their ability to convey a sense of elegance, sophistication, and nostalgia. Eulogy Demo Light adds a touch of vintage charm, while Adelia Regular exudes a timeless elegance that complements the overall retro feel of the design.
Color Palette:
The color palette for the packaging design reflects the rich and indulgent nature of the chocolate bars, while also incorporating earthy tones to convey a sense of sustainability and organic authenticity. Shades of deep blue, rich brown, and creamy beige evoke a sense of comfort and warmth, while subtle hints of red from the Italian flag add a touch of tradition and quality reassurance.

Design Elements:
Repetitive elements such as colors, lines, and patterns are intentionally incorporated into the packaging design to create visual cohesion and evoke a sense of nostalgia. Modern and retro elements are seamlessly blended to appeal to both traditionalists and modern consumers, ensuring that the packaging stands out on the shelves while maintaining a timeless appeal.

Tools Used:
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop were the primary tools used for the packaging design project, allowing for seamless integration of hand-drawn elements, typography, and color schemes. Illustrator facilitated the creation of intricate vector graphics, while Photoshop was utilized for image editing, texture overlays, and mockup creation. Together, these tools enabled the realization of a visually stunning and emotionally resonant packaging design that captures the essence of Dolce Trattato Italian old chocolate company.
